“Content creates leverage, but products create wealth.”
Cuban captures a tension that runs through the careers of many builders. Writing, speaking, and sharing ideas can amplify your reach and establish credibility, but leverage alone does not compound. Products do. A blog post or press appearance might open doors, but it is the underlying product, the thing people pay for and depend on, that creates lasting value.
This is something I think about often in the context of my own work. The interviews and articles serve a purpose: they attract talent, build trust, and signal what we stand for. But they are in service of what we are actually building. Content without a product behind it is commentary. A product without content is invisible. The trick is getting the balance right, and Cuban’s framing helps keep that balance honest. See the Bio for more on how these threads connect.
